President (Frigate)
Forty-four gun sailing frigate; built 1800, in New York; flagship of Commodore Richard Dale in Mediterranean, 1801-1802; cruised in Mediterranean in 1804-1805; participated in actions against Tripoli in the Barbary; captured by the British 1815 and taken into Royal Navy; broken up at Portsmouth, Eng., 1817.
