Holshouser, Jim, 1934-2013
James E. Holshouser, Jr. graduated from Davidson College in 1956. He attended UNC Law School, graduating in 1960. He served in the N.C. House of Representatives for four terms. In 1972 he became governor of N.C. Upon completion of his term in ofice, he joined the law firm of Brown, Holshouser and Pate in southern Pines, N.C. In 1978 he became chairman of the board of First Colony savings and Loan Assoc., resigning in 1982. He has received numerous awards and honors, including an honorary degree from Davidson College in 1974.
