Whaling vessel (316 tons), out of Fall River, Mass., mastered by James C. Stafford, on voyage 9 Sept. 1848-3 Sept. 1850 to the New Holland and Western Australia whaling grounds; owner-agent: Nathan Durfee; built at Swansboro, N.C., 1832; voyage ends when ship is condemned at Sydney, Australia; refitted for whaling from Sydney; lost near Fiji in 1858.
