Philadelphia Times Publishing Company.

The Philadelphia Times was founded by Alexander McClure as a reform newspaper in 1875, following his defeat in the election for the Mayor of Philadelphia. With printer Frank McLaughlin, he made it into one of the most lively and outspoken papers in the city. The company was renamed the Times Company in 1892. Following the death of the last of his co-owners, McClure sold the entire capital stock to Charles F. Kindred in 1899. Kindred was an agent of the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad and sometimes ward boss in the Republican Party machine. The Philadelphia Times was merged with the Public Ledger in 1902.
