Hudspeth, Andrew Hutchins, b. 1874.
Andrew Hutchins Hudspeth was born on Oct. 23, 1874 in Wolfe City, Texas. He graduated from Business College in 1890, and then took law courses at Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tennessee. Hudspeth moved to Lincoln County, N.M. in 1895, was admitted to the New Mexico State Bar in 1897, and practiced law in Carrizozo. In 1902, he moved to White Oaks, N.M. Hudspeth served in the New Mexico Territorial Legislature for one term in 1907. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver in 1908 and a member of the New Mexico Constitutional Convention in 1910. Serving as State Chairman of the Democratic State Central Committee in 1912, Hudspeth conducted the presidential campaign, on behalf of Woodrow Wilson.
