Graham, Thomas Wesley, 1882-1971
Thomas Wesley Graham was born on October 12, 1882 in Carlsbad Springs, Ontario, Canada. He received the A.B. degree with honors in Philosophy from the University of Toronto in 1903 and graduated in 1907 from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. From 1907 to 1908, he studied at the United Free Church College in Glasgow, Scotland. From 1908 to 1920, Graham held pastorates (Presbyterian) in Illinois and Minnesota. He joined the faculty of Oberlin College's Graduate School of Theology in 1920 and replaced retiring Edward Increase Bosworth as Dean of the Seminary in 1923. He held the post until 1948, when he moved to Connecticut to engage in Y.M.C.A. work in New York City. He died on June 3, 1971 at age 88.
