Montana. Animal Health Division.

In 1971 the Livestock Sanitary Board, administered by the State Veterinary Surgeon, was abolished and its functions transferred to the Board of Livestock. The Board of Livestock, in turn, vested those functions in the Animal Health Division. The State Veterinarian became the administrator of the new division. The Animal Health Division was charged with the control and eradication of animal diseases and the prevention of the transmission of animal diseases to humans. The Division had three bureaus, the Diagnostic Laboratory Bureau, the Disease Control Bureau, and the Milk and Egg Bureau.
