Born 1883 in Maine, A.B. degree from Bowdoin College in 1908, A.M. in Biology from Harvard University in 1910. Married Edith Milhous in 1917. Worked for United States Department of Agriculture and the University of California at Riverside. Deposited insect specimens in the California Academy of Sciences. Died on April 17, 1981.
