Peoples' voice cafe.

Established in 1979 in New York City, the Peoples' Voice Cafe (PVC) is an alternative coffeehouse founded by members of Songs of Freedom and Struggle (now a national organization known as the People's Music Network for Songs of Freedom and Struggle).

The Peoples' Voice Cafe has used various venues to host its events over the years and it is still run today as a not-for-profit, independent organization by a community of volunteers. Performers who have appeared at concerts include Eric Andersen, Oscar Brand, Carolyn Hester, Earl Robinson, and Pete Seeger. Shows usually spotlight political music, but also have involved poetry, storytelling, puppetry, dance and theater. In December 2004 the PVC celebrated its 25th anniversary.
