Chase, Albert A., 1837-
Albert A. Chase was born in 1837 in Meredith, N.H. He studied medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and graduated in 1865. In April 1865, Chase enlisted in the 19th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment and served as an assistant surgeon until mustering out in June 1865. In 1866, Chase was hired by the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Land to serve as a medical officer in Raleigh, N.C.
