Pearce, Dutee Jerauld, 1789-1849

Congressman from Rhode Island, 1825-1849; elected as a Democrat, later elected as an Anti-Masonic candidate; graduated from Brown in 1808, studied law, and served as a member of the Newport bar; served in the state legislature, and as attorney-general of Rhode Island, 1819-1825.
