Perkins, Elliott, 1901-1985.
Elliott Perkins (1901-1985) earned his Harvard A.B. in 1923 and Harvard Ph.D. in 1936. He was a Tutor at Lowell House at its opening in 1930 and served as Master of the House from 1940 to 1963. Perkins also taught courses on English history from 1937 to 1969. After leaving his Mastership at Lowell House, Perkins served at Harvard as advisor to high school teachers, as chairman of the Committee on Teaching as a Career, as Head Tutor in History, and as chairman of the Board of Examiners in History.
