Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Co.

Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Company was started in 1909 by Jacob Kindleberger on the Kalamazoo River in Parchment, Michigan. KVP produced grease insoluble vegetable parchment paper, which was used in the meat packing and dairy industries. In 1960, KVP merged with another local company, Sutherland Paper. At that time the company was called KVP-Sutherland. Since the late 1960s the company has merged with or been purchased by Brown Company, James River Corporation and Crown-Vantage.
