The Transpacific Transportation Company, Pacific Coast agents of the Java Pacific Line, opened offices at 1105 Security Title Insurance Building in Los Angeles on July 1, 1941. C.F. Yenney was the District Manager in Charge. The San Francisco Examiner reported that the Java Pacific Line was the first shipping company from the Netherlands to establish its own offices in Los Angeles. The Java Pacific Line operated ships that sailed Los Angeles-San Francisco-East Indies routes. It was one of the largest shipping companies in the Netherlands. During WWII, some of its ships carried defense materials to the Pacific Coast (San Francisco Examiner, May 16, 1941).
