Premier from 10 December 1859 to 1 February 1866 and from 20.7.1866 to 7.8.1866. First Premier of Queensland, 1859-1866; he returned to England and from 1871 to 1892 he was the Under-Secretary for the Colonies. From 1893-6 he was Agent-General for Tasmania
