Wisconsin. Division of Environmental Standards
Under reorganization of the Department of Natural Resources (WIHV85-A695) in 1974, the functions of the former Division of Environmental Protection (WIHV87-A73) were divided between the new Division of Enforcement (WIHV86-A901) and Division of Environmental Standards. The Division of Environmental Standards changed its name ca. 1990 to the Division for Environmental Quality. In 1997 the Division was renamed the Division of Air and Waste. In Wisconsin State Archives' database entries, the form of name above is used for all appropriate records from 1974 to the present.
The Division of Environmental Standards plans, supervises, and coordinates water quality standards development, and water supply, air pollution control, and solid waste management programs.
