Horne, David Hughes

David Hughes Horne, born circa 1935, was a member of the United States Air Force, was an NACE Corrosion Specialist and Aerospace Engineer at Hill Air Force Base, and was able to patent his invention of a process for increasing strength, flexibility, and fatigue life of metals. Horne is a descendant of Asael Smith through Asael's son John, an uncle of the Prophet Joseph Smith. President George Albert Smith was David H. Horne's paternal grandmother's first cousin. From 1944 to 1947, Horne's family lived near George Albert Smith and therefore had frequent contact with him.
