Henry Louis Mencken
Henry Louis Mencken (1880-1956) was a famous American journalist, critic, and author. His most well-known work is "The American Language". He also founded the journal "The American Mercury", which went on to influence magazines such as "The New Yorker". He was a colorful, outgoing literary figure of his time, and is thought to have written over 100,000 letters over the course of his life.
