League for the Amnesty of Political Prisoners (U.S.)
The League's purpose was to educate the public to the fundamental distinction between political offenses and ordinary crime. It defined political prisoners as those who were convicted for holding social opinions contrary to the country's war activities. It sought the release of all political prisoners through a general amnesty.
