Fellow the the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Institute of Physics, Member of the British Society of Rheology, Member, Groupe Français de Rhéologie, Member, Deutsche Rheologische Gesellschaft. Founder member and President, British Society of Rheology, 1949-1951, Herbert Freundlich medal of the Deutsche Rheologische Geselleschaft, Poiseuille gold medal of the International Society of Haemorheology 1969, Gold medal of the British Society of Rheology 1970; co-editor, Biorheology; member of editorial board, Journal of texture studies, 1969-1987. Scott Blair died in 1987.
