Prindle, H. L. (Hoyt LeRoy), 1905-1967
Hoyt LeRoy Prindle (b. 1905, Lawton, Mich.-d. Apr. 1, 1967), U.S. Air Force officer, was appointed an aviation cadet in 1926 and graduated from advanced flying school the following year. He served with the 8th and 6th Pursuit Squadrons in Hawaii (1927-1932). Early in 1945 he became deputy commanding officer, First Tactical Air Force Service Command in Germany, and, later, commanding officer, 42nd Bomb Wing. In 1947 he was assigned to the Tactical Air Command (TAC) as deputy commander, 313th Troop Carrier Wing, and in 1950 did temporary duty with the Far East Air Forces in Korea. In 1954 he was named chief of staff, 18th Air Force (TAC), becoming deputy commander the next year.
