D'Orsa, Charles S. (Charles Salvatore), 1911-1995
Charles Salvatore D'Orsa (1911-1995) was born in Mezzoiuso, Sicily, Italy. He received his commission at 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1932, and advanced to the rank of major general in 1962. He was commanding general of the VI U.S. Army Corps at Battle Creek, Michigan, from 1966 to 1968, then deputy commanding general of the 1st U.S. Army at Fort Meade, Maryland, from 1968 to 1970. He retired from Army service in 1970.
