The Committee to Survey the Agricultural Labor Resources of the San Joaquin Valley was created by Governor Earl Warren in response to resolutions requesting such a study from the Central Valley Empire Association and the San Joaquin Valley Supervisors Association The Committee was charged to make a complete survey of all aspects of the seasonal labor problem in the San Joaquin Valley and to recommend short-range and long-range solutions for dealing with it. The fifteen-person committee met from March to December 1950 when it submitted its recommendations. The Committee's records include documents relating to: organization; meetings; five public hearings; correspondence; state agency reports; background reports; farm labor centers; publicity; and the final report to the Governor.
