United States. District Court (Alaska : 4th District)

In 1884, Congress passed legislation which made the General Laws of Oregon the law for the district of Alaska; a single district with the seat at Sitka. By 1900, the district court had three divisions: Juneau, Saint Michaels and Eagle City. In 1909, the District Court of Alaska was again divided with judges at Nome, Valdez, Juneau and Fairbanks and in 1943, the third district court at Valdez was moved to Anchorage.
