Gerson, Sophie Melvin, 1910-1996
Sophie Melvin Gerson (1910-1996) was a Communist labor activist who participated in the Gastonia, North Carolina Textile Strike of 1929, and in other labor organizing activities throughout the Mid-Atlantic states in the early 1930s.
