Australian Woolgrowers' and Graziers' Council
The Pastoralists Federal Council of Australia was formed in Brisbane of 16 March 1891 by representatives of the Pastoralists Unions of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia and the United Pastoralists Union of Queensland for the purpose of securing uniform policy and unity of action. In 1919 the name of the body was changed to the Graziers' Federal Council of Australia. The Australian Woolgrowers' Council was formed in 1919 as a national woolgrowers' organisation but by 1960 it was reduced to member organisations of the G.F.C. In 1960 the G.F.C. and A.W.C. amalgamated to form the Australian Woolgrowers' and Graziers' Council, with member organisations from all States.
