Dye, Job Francis, 1807-1883
Mountain man. Went to California with Ewing Young (1832). Worked on John R. Cooper's rancho, ran store and distillery in Santa Cruz, Calif. Later made money as trader and merchant during Gold Rush. Recollections first printed in Santa Cruz newspaper (1866). This typescript is transcription by Dye's grandson, Thomas F. Butler, of former's published recollections.
