Miles, Charles Richardson, b. 1829
Attorney and South Carolina state representative. Miles was born in Orangeburg County (S.C.) and received much of his education in Charleston (S.C.), where he later resided. He served as assistant attorney general during the 1850's, and after the Civil War formed a partnership with Henry Deas Lesesne (1810-1886). Miles was elected South Carolina attorney general in 1882 and 1884. He also served as the president of the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. In 1858 he married Mary Mazyck, daughter of William Mazyck.
