Cone, George W., 1844-1936

Resident of Marion County, Ohio; enlisted May 2, 1864 and served with Company B, 136th Ohio National Guard (part of U.S. Army) when discharged Aug. 31, 1864. The 136th Ohio Regiment was organized at Camp Chase, Ohio in 1864 to serve for 100 days; composed of companies from Ohio National Guard which served on garrison duty at various forts as part of the defenses of Washington south of the Potomac.
