Dobbins, Cris, 1904-1979.
Cris Dobbins, a native of Colorado, attended Englewood Public Schools and graduated from the University of Denver. In 1915, Dobbins began a lifelong business and personal relationship with the Boettcher family when he took a part-time position in Charles Boettcher's Colorado Portland Cement Company. He steadily advanced in the company to the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager in 1948. In 1952, the Board elected him President. In 1968, Dobbins became Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. He stepped down as CEO in 1971, but remained active as Chairman of the Board until his death in 1979.
