Utah. Division of Aging and Adult Services

The Division of Aging and Adult Services, created in 1967 as the Division on Aging, is responsible for developing a comprehensive and coordinated system to deliver services to Utah's adult and elderly population.

Aging and Adult Services is under the administration and general direction of a division director and under the policy direction of the Board of Aging and Adult Services (UTSV-H33). The division director is appointed by the executive director of the Department of Human Services (UTSV-H1116) with the concurrence of the division board and is required by statute to possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and administer the division's programs. Prior to 1983, the division director was appointed by the Board of Aging and Adult Services.
