Kazimiroff, Theodore L.
Dr. Theodore Kazimiroff (1914-1980), a dentist and amateur archeologist, served as Bronx Historian (1953-1980). He helped found the Bronx County Historical Society in 1955 and was its first president. He was a consultant to the New York Zoological Society, the Museum of the American Indian, and the Museum of Natural History. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Thomas Pell Wildlife Refuge and Sanctuary in Pelham Bay Park. He also was a driving force in the establishment of the Hunter Island Marine Zoology and Geology Sanctuary.
