Dean, James Theodore, 1865-1939

James Theodore Dean (b. May 12, 1865, Ironton, Ohio-d. June 15, 1939), Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1887 and served as chief ordnance officer in Puerto Rico and Cuba during the Spanish-American War. He also served in Alaska and in the Philippines before World War I duty with the 78th Division. He continued his military career with the recruiting service and the Army reserves, retiring in September 1928.
