Caledonian Society (Lexington, Ky.)
The Caledonian Society of Lexington, Kentucky was originally established in 1797 as the St. Andrew's Society. The purpose of the society was the promotion of interest in Scottish customs, language, and literature. Its membership was limited to males of Scottish birth or those whose fathers or grandfathers were born in Scotland. Among its members and officers were George Copland, James K. Patterson, Walter K. Patterson, and Alastair St. Clair Mackenzie.
