Blackstone, W. E. (William E.), 1841-

Businessman, philanthropist; born William Eugene Blackstone on October 6, 1841; self-educated; founder and first superintendent of Chicago Hebrew Mission (later American Messianic Fellowship); sole trustee of the Milton Stewart Evangelistic Fund, which was set up to evangelize Jews and Chinese in many countries around the world; petitioned Presidents Harrison and Wilson to support the setting up of a homeland for displaced Jews in Palestine; wrote books about the Second Coming of Christ; died, 1935.
