Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs
The Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs (FWOC) was founded in 1932 to coordinate the preservation efforts of outdoor clubs in the western United States. Member clubs include conservation and outdoor enjoyment groups from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Western Canada. FWOC promotes the use, enjoyment, and protection of America's scenic wilderness and outdoor recreational resources. Past FWOC efforts helped secure passage of the Wilderness Act and have made important contributions to the establishment of the North Cascades National Park, the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington, and various wilderness areas in the national forests of Oregon and California.
