New York (State). Education Dept. Bureau of Rural Administrative Services.
The establishment of county vocational education and extension boards by the vote of county boards of supervisors was authorized in 1926 (Chapter 505). The law requires that the Commissioner of Education approve courses offered by the boards. This review and approval was completed by the Assistant Commissioner for Vocational Education until 1956, when these duties were assigned to the Bureau of Rural Administrative Services by the Associate Commissioner for Elementary, Secondary and Adult Education.
