Pengally, Thomas, fl. 1642-1683
In MS 200 the following names are "Brother" to Thomas the merchant: George Harper; Harper; Samuel] Davies or Davis; Samuel Fanne[s]; Samuel Dawes or Davis. Thomas's uncle, Simon Snow of Westwood, refers to "cousin Crew" and "my cousin Simon Trowbridge." Thomas's cousin Snow of Exeter refers to cousins Leach, Trobridge, Walrond, and Taylor. "Brother" in the case of one of the Harpers certainly indicates a relationship through a sister or sister-in-law; but both "brother" and "cousin" had a very wide application at this time; and "brother" might also mean a fellow guild-member.
