Evesham Monthly Meeting (Society of Friends : 1760-1827 : Mount Laurel, N.J.). Preparative Meeting of Ministers and Elders.

Evesham Monthly Meeting was established in 1760 by Salem Quarterly Meeting out of Haddonfield Monthly Meeting. The monthly meeting was transferred to Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting in 1794. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Evesham Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1884; its members were transferred to Chester Monthly Meeting (NJ) and Medford Monthly Meeting (Hicksite). In 1956, the former Orthodox monthly meeting was merged into Moorestown Monthly Meeting. This meeting was often unofficially known as "Mount Laurel".
