Illinois. Commission on the Organization of the General Assembly
The Commission on the Organization of the General Assembly (1965-1969), composed of the Speaker of the House; Senate president; five additional members each from the House and Senate; and ten citizens appointed by the Speaker and president pro tempore, was to study and evaluate General Assembly operation and organization with special attention to rules and procedures; manpower, equipment, facilities, and appropriations; legislative service agency organization and operation; printing and stationery practices. Originally charged with making a formal written report in 1966, the commission was to expire in 1967, but its life was extended until July 1969 so that it could be consulted concerning its report.
