American Physical Society. Southeastern Section
First organized in 1935 in Decatur, Georgia as the Southeastern Association of Physicists, renamed the Southeastern Society of Physicists in 1936, the group affiliated with the American Physical Society (APS) as the Southeastern Section of the APS in 1937. Its objective is the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of physics.
