Wilmer, William H. (William Holland), 1782-1827
William Holland Wilmer was born in Kent County, Md. on the 29th of October 1782. He was educated at Washington College in Chestertown, Md. and ordained an Episcopal clergyman in 1809. He served parishes in Maryland and Virginia and was president of the House of Clergical and Lay Deputies of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church. He taught at the Protestant Episcopal Seminary in Virginia. In 1826 he was appointed president of the College of William and Mary and rector of Bruton Parish Church. He died 24 July 1827.
