Stanley, Timothy W.
Timothy Wadsworth Stanley (1927-1997) served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 1955 to 1956, and in the White House from 1957 to1959. He was a special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense from 1959 to 1963, and Division Director of Policy Planning Staff from 1963 to 1965. He served as assistant to Secretary of Defense for North Atlantic Treaty Organization force planning in Paris, France, from 1965 to 1967, and then as a defense adviser and minister to North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels, Belgium, 1967 to 1969. Stanley received the Distinguished Civilian Service Medal from the Department of Defense in 1969 for North Atlantic Treaty Organization efforts.
