Fowler, S. C.

California Pacific Railroad established to build a line from Sacramento to Vallejo (1868). At that time Vallejo was expected to be terminus of transcontinental railroad. California Pacific was operational by time transcontinental line reached Sacramento and served wheat growers of Sacramento Valley for some years, but never enjoyed boom expected for it since Big Four built their own tracks to Oakland. The Central Pacific Railroad soon absorbed the California Pacific (1876).
