New South Wales. Parliament
Founded in 1842 as the Legislative Council, it lost part of its legislative territory in 1850 to form the new state Victoria. The new Parliament first met in 1856. In 1934 the Council was reconstituted in the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly.
