McAteer, Ella Mae.
Ella Mae McAteer was raised in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh where her father, an Irish immigrant, ran a small grocery store. She attended Peabody High School and was an active member of the Catholic Theater Guild throughout World War II.
