McDuffie, Lizzie.
Lizzie McDuffie served as housekeeper for the Inman family for thirty years with four of those years in the Swan House, Atlanta, Georgia. Her husband, Irvin "Mac" McDuffie, worked in Alonzo Herndon's barbershop until 1927 when he began working for Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1927 at Warm Springs, Georgia. After Roosevelt was elected President, Lizzie left her position with the Inman family and went to work at the White House along with Mac, who served as personal valet of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
