Chin, John Carlton
Physician, pastor, church planter; born April 6, 1911 in China; attended China Inland Mission church and Sunday school; graduated from Canton University, 1940; after World War II helped start a Lutheran church and became a licensed pastor; after Communist takeover, moved to Hong Kong and then Taiwan, 1950; became physician for a government factory and started a church which became the first Lutheran church in Taiwan; began a training center for Chinese which became the first Lutheran seminary in Taiwan; helped organize the Hong Kong Lutheran Church, 1955; retired in 1975 and moved to the United States; married Wang Ming-hsun (1942) and had one daughter.
