Sierra Nevada Silver Mining Company.

The Sierra Nevada Silver Mining Company, one of the mines of the Comstock Lode at Virginia City, Nevada, was actively worked during the boom years of the 1860s and 1870s but never produced great yields. The company continued to produce ore until 1881. Among the investors in the Sierra Nevada Silver Mining Company were George Hearst and William Morris Stewart, a prominent lawyer in Comstock mining cases and U.S. senator from Nevada (1864-75; 1887-1905).
