Soldier, notary, and customs official; b. in Southbridge, Mass., of French-Canadian ancestry; resident of Worcester; served with Massachusetts National Guard, 1st Field Artillery Battalion, Battery B, the U.S. Army expedition into Mexico (1916), with U.S. Army, 102nd Field Artillery, Battery E in France during World War I, and with Officers' Reserve Corps; after the war worked as customs official in Haiti.
